What is it? Insomniac's fresh take on the famous web-slinger
At its core, Insomniac Games’ new adventure strives to make you feel like Spider-Man. And, thankfully, Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4 succeeds at nearly every swing across Manhattan’s rooftops. I was left delighted at nearly every step of its 15-hour adventure thanks to a surprisingly deep tale that mines the plights of both Spider-Man and Peter Parker to great emotional success. Underpinning that engrossing narrative is an excellent set of webswinging mechanics, which -- combined with fun gadgets and plenty of puns -- makes for thrilling action in both the massive setpieces and in the quiet, confined corridors of tense sequences. Insomniac’s first foray into the realm of Marvel superheroes is a continually exciting adventure whose open world and combat are only occasionally caught up in a web of overly familiar trappings.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

What is it? The Assassin's Creed franchise goes to ancient Greece, and battles more gods.
It's the setting that always defines an Assassin's Creed game, and ancient Greece is one of the most interesting the series has had on PS4. You'll explore the country during its golden age as a mercenary - interestingly, you can choose to be one of two heroes Alexios or Kassandra - and align with either Athens or Sparta. You'll fight in actual battles this time, and choose to follow either of three different disciplines (Warrior, Hunter, or Assassin) to shape your character. It all looks incredibly vibrant and colorful, and plays as beautifully as ever. Many of the systems introduced in Origins have been refined, and gear-collecting will play a big role in Odyssey too. Everything will be as historically authentic as usual too, and you can expect another modern-day story in the background.

Resident Evil 2 Remake

What is it? A complete remake of the horror classic from 1998. This is a classic Resi zombie outing.
A remake of Resident Evil 2 (1998), it follows rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they attempt to escape from Raccoon City during a zombie apocalypse.
Unlike the original Resident Evil 2, which uses tank controls and fixed camera angles, the remake features "over-the-shoulder" third-person shooter gameplay similar to Resident Evil 4.
Anthem

What is it? Part-Destiny and part-Titanfall 2, BioWare's Anthem sees you whizz around a planet in an exosuit, shooting anything that comes your way. With your buddies in tow.
Anthem combines third-person shooter and action role-playing game elements in a "contiguous open world" shared with up to three other players in which they take the role of a Freelancer donning fully customizable exosuits called Javelins. These suits can be customized to have various unique weapons and superhuman abilities. Two classes of Javelins were shown during Anthem's presentation at Microsoft's E3 2017 Conference. One was the Ranger, which is an all-around and balanced Javelin, and the Colossus, which is a larger and more heavily armored Javelin made to fill in more of a tanking role. Further Javelins include the Storm and the Interceptor, both providing different styles of gameplay. The Storm Javelin uses powerful technology to unleash the rage of the hymn, while being able to effortless float in the air. The Interceptor Javelin is similar to the Colossus, but does not look as threatening. However, this doesn't mean that his attacks aren't absolutely brutal. This Javelin is focused on close quarter combat moves, being able to quickly move in and out of battle. Players can build relationships with various non-playable characters, but they cannot establish any romantic relationship with them, as was a trademark of previous BioWare games. The central meeting point of the game takes place in Fort Tarsis, the central stronghold of Anthem. Built by the name giving General Helena Tarsis, it serves as a fortified settlement against the threats of the outside world and is also the point where the player goes to receive new missions and freelance assignments. It is a melting point where all the different factions of the game meet, including the Sentinels, Corvus, Cyphers and Arcanists.
Days Gone

What is it? With the world seemingly in ruins, it's time to avoid hordes of Freakers. Yes, they can run.
